About

Earthen Vessels Ministry (EVM, Inc.) exists to strengthen pastoral marriages, care for ministry families in crisis, and enable congregations to care for pastoral families in healthy ways.  EVM is committed to pastors, their families, and the congregations they serve.  We offer support for clergy families in crisis, retreats and seminars designed to strengthen the health of ministry marriages, and resources for local congregations, and personal coaching for those in ministry.  You can learn more about EVM at evmonline.org.

Carl and Valerie Addison launched this ministry in 2007.  After 27 years in pastoral ministry, they sensed a call on their lives to come alongside those in ministry, to be their advocates, and to provide ministries and resources that will strengthen their relationships with their spouses, families and the congregations they serve. It is their conviction that enhancing the health and strength of those relationships builds not only healthy pastoral families but healthy churches as well.

Dr. Carl Addison serves as the executive director of EVM. Inc.  He has served Church of God congregations in Michigan, Ohio and Missouri. Dr. Addison is a graduate of Anderson University, and has the M. Div. degree from Anderson’s School of Theology. Additionally, Carl has done doctoral studies at Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, MO, and received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Beeson Divinity School, Samford University,  in Birmingham, AL.
